About NC Septic Guide
NC Septic Guide is the independent resource North Carolina homeowners trust for straight answers about septic systems. We research what services really cost, explain regulations in plain English, and connect you with vetted local providers.
Our Mission
We started NC Septic Guide because finding reliable septic information shouldn't be this hard. Most of what's out there is either a provider trying to sell you something or a generic national site that doesn't know the difference between Wake County regulations and Mecklenburg County regulations.
We're an independent guide that does the research so you don't have to. Our job is to help North Carolina homeowners make informed decisions about their septic systems — whether that's understanding what pumping should actually cost, figuring out if your aerobic system maintenance contract is a good deal, or finding a licensed installer in your county.
We don't provide septic services ourselves. We don't have a truck or a pump. What we do have is a commitment to giving you honest, North Carolina-specific information that helps you take care of your property.
How We Vet Providers
Not every septic company makes the cut. Before we recommend a provider, we check the basics that matter:
- License verification through DHHS records to confirm active licensing and proper certifications
- Insurance confirmation to make sure they carry adequate liability coverage
- Review monitoring across multiple platforms to track customer satisfaction over time
- Complaint checking through the Better Business Bureau and state regulatory databases
Our provider vetting process is continuously improving. We're building out deeper verification tools to make provider matching even more reliable.
